I decided against the trip to Callaghan as the conditions were not optimal or safe. Our Plan B trip was a 360 from snowshoeing up the mountains. We went to the OWL Rehab Centre in Delta where we had a an opportunity to see several raptors that were not able to be released back into the wild because of injuries. They had very interesting names and one of the owls was 41 years old. The Owls and eagles are so impressive. They did a wonderful job of the museum and some of us bought t-shirts and Gerd bought a carry bag that matches her red jacket perfectly. After the 1 hour informative tour we picked up a coffee and headed to one of the trail accesses that joined up with the Boundary Bay Dyke path. Lunch on a log in the beautiful sunshine, and yes, we had to wear sunglasses, then off for a hike along the dyke. A wonderful day it was.
