Mt Crumpit -Sat May 27, 2023
It was a beautiful, sunny day from start to finish for this hike. 12 of us left the North Shore and started the hike to Mt. Crumpit just before 10am. Most of this hike is in the forest with more crisscrossing trails than you can count. A map and the All Trails App were a must to keep us from going around in circles. Several viewpoints gave us views of the surrounding mountains including the Stawamus Chief, Slhanay Peak and Sky Pilot.
I decided to do this hike counterclockwise and hike up the steep part instead of hiking down it, in order that hiking back to the cars would be more leisurely instead of having to watch our footing with every step. We stopped close to the summit for a leisurely lunch, hiked up to the actual summit then headed down, taking in a couple of extra loops from the main trail. There were a few spots where we had to stop, consult the app for the right trail, and at times back-track a bit.
All in all, with stops for photos, lunch, and taking our time, we took about 4 hours to complete the hike. A wonderful group of people to share the mountain with.
