Bike Burquitlam Bjorn Bar and Mia Weinberg Saturday 10th August 2024

A small group of five decided to bear the heat and cycle out to Burquitlam, targeting two Mia Weinberg outdoor art sculptures and a favourite cafe.  It was hot and muggy but the cycle breeze was just enough to keep us cool, except on the uphill bits.  Without Red Leader One (Iain), we were relying on beginner-GPS-user (Tamsin) but with a combination of pre-programmed and mostly familiar routes we avoided too many U-turns.  Found a most pleasant lunch spot at Grimston Park, with a welcome breeze and the shade of a huge tree.  Winding our way back along the BC Parkway we had an added bonus of a few 'Eco-flower-sculptures' before a cheeky beer-stop at Red Truck. The main route distance was around 60km, with an extra 20 - 30km for the North Shore contingent who chose not to get the seabus.  A good day out with excellent company.
