What a gem of a hike…none of us had ever hiked Devil’s Peak!
Due to the heat wave, we opted for an early start. Ten of us met at the Seymour picnic parking area and started hiking at 7:45am.
We scrambled up and down various trails primarily around Boulder Creek. Also, we climbed over numerous blowdowns getting to our destination. Part of the trail was on an old logging track with artefacts scattered around.
The forest was beautiful with sunlight shining through the trees, several types of fungi, and blueberry bushes to feast from. We saw two other hikers on our way down and a couple of mountain bikers just up from Boulder Creek. It was a pleasure to hike in an area where no others were present.
Although a little hazy at the top you can see the backside of Mt. Seymour, Vancouver harbour and the city beyond.
It’s recommended you use a GPS when tackling the Devil's Peak Trail. At times, the trail was difficult to follow as it is not well marked and there are random tags that don’t appear to lead anywhere. Thank you, Iain, for navigating us up to Devil’s Peak.
Here is the route from Iain’s Garmin GPSMAP67i
