Crooked Falls
Louise writes:-
Nine of us had an uneventful drive to the Squamish Valley. We had crossed the Ashlu Creek and to the horror of those of us that were on the Lindeman Lake hike it started to lightly snow. Fortunately the flurries didn’t last long, with the day being a mixture of sun and cloud.
The trail to Crooked Falls winds through old-growth forest, stately Douglas Firs and Western Red Cedars with moss-blanketed boulders. It’s a pretty hike, rugged and rocky, zig zagging up below overhanging outcrops.
Crooked Falls tumbles over several large outcrops of rock winding its way down to the Squamish River with the most spectacular views across the Tantalus Provincial Park. We enjoyed lunch looking out over the falls and embracing the views.
Heading back down we took a detour to the Stoltmann Lookout where the trail is short, steep and a little challenging; however it was worth the effort with amazing views over the Squamish Valley and majestic mountains.
