Nine members went on a chilly, beautiful & sunny Sunday to Callaghan backcountry area.

We spiked on Real Life, Finger Lakes, where we stopped for lunch in the sun, and Alexander Falls trailheads. Snow was hard packed on the majority of the trails until the very end. Spikes were great for the last short, steep & icy part. We saw those with snowshoes having to slide down on their tushes.

The falls were gorgeous! After a snack & photos, it was time to hike up the Alexander Falls Express Trail to the parking lot.

We guesstimated 12 km & 350-400 m gain.
