After a leisurely breakfast at the Sunshine Valley RV Resort three intrepid hikers drove the 1/2 hour to Manning Park and began a crossover hike starting at Lightning Lakes and ending at Strawberry Flats on the Skyline Trail with vehicles at either end. After about an hour of hiking up through the forest on a very well developed trail we gained the sub-alpine ridge walk with views south to Mt. Frosty and southwest to Mt. Hessemein in the USA. Approx. 770m of elevation gain and 16k of total distance walked.
