Only two of us, Margo and I, did this hike. Margo sensibly had her spikes with her. Not entirely necessary, but they did help her,  especially on the snowy/icy steep bits.

We first passed First Lake, then Blue Gentian Lake, followed by Lost Lake, and made our way back to Blue Gentian Lake in a loop. The last Km before Blue Gentian Lake and Lost Lake and back to Blue Gentian Lake we were breaking fresh trail through the fresh snow. It was delightful.  Clear blue sky and no one else about. It was like we had the mountain to ourselves. 

Back at Blue Gentian Lake we sat for a late lunch in the snow, in the sun, on the perfect log. We probably sat for a good half hour savoring our sandwiches, fruit, cookies, and chocolate. We back trackerd about 500m and took a little trodden path to West Lake. Both Margo and I thought it was our first time being on the path from Lost Lake all the way to West Lake, despite much hiking in the area. It was undulating, icy in spots, and beautiful. We had a great natter and caught up on our Camino and Greenlandic adventures.
